Work and reasonable adjustments

In the UK, ADHD can count as a disability under the Equality Act 2010, which means employers may need to make reasonable adjustments.

If ADHD has a substantial, long-term effect on your day-to-day life, you may be protected under the Equality Act 2010 — you don't need a formal diagnosis for this to apply, though it helps.

Reasonable adjustments might include noise-cancelling headphones, a quieter desk, written instructions, flexible hours or regular check-ins.

Access to Work is a government scheme that can fund support at work, such as coaching or equipment.

You choose whether to tell your employer. ACAS has free, impartial guidance.
