Starting is the hard bit

Procrastination in ADHD often isn't about not caring. Starting a task can feel like pushing against a wall, especially if it's boring, vague or emotionally loaded.

Tasks that are unclear, uninteresting or linked to worry are the hardest to start.

Shrinking the first step until it feels almost silly ('open the laptop') lowers the wall. Novelty, urgency, interest and company can also help.

Shame tends to make the wall taller. Kindness to yourself is practical, not soppy.
